Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-10-27

This policy explains how UsualShift handles personal data on usualshift.com and in the apps we publish on the App Store and Google Play. In short: we collect as little as possible, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is UsualShift, entrepreneur individuel (EI), 8 bis rue Abel, 75012 Paris, France (SIREN 130 962 053). For any privacy question, write to contact@usualshift.com.

On this website

  • No cookies, no analytics, no advertising trackers. We don't measure your visit and we don't load fonts, scripts or images from third parties.
  • Hosting logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data needed to deliver the site and protect it against attacks: IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Cloudflare keeps these logs for a short period under its own policy.
  • Local storage. The home page stores one value in your browser's session storage so the logo animation plays only once per visit. It is never sent to us and is erased when you close the tab.

In our apps

Each app collects only what it needs to work. Before an app is released, its store page lists the data it uses ("App Privacy" on the App Store, "Data safety" on Google Play), and any data specific to that app is described in a section of this page. Across all our apps:

  • Account data (if the app has accounts): email address and the details you choose to give, to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of the contract (the app's terms).
  • Content you create in the app: stored to provide the service, and synced across your devices if the app offers it. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
  • Diagnostic data (crash reports, performance): used only to fix bugs, without advertising identifiers. Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing reliable software. You can turn it off where the app offers a setting.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We receive confirmation that a purchase or subscription is active, never your card details.
  • We do not sell personal data, share it with data brokers, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.

When you email us

We use your email address and your message to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering requests, or taking steps at your request before a contract. We keep these exchanges for up to 3 years after our last contact, then delete them.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): website hosting, security and email forwarding.
  • Apple and Google: app distribution, payments, and crash reporting tools built into their platforms.

Some of these providers are located outside the European Union. Transfers rely on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. If an app uses another provider (for example to store your data in the cloud), it will be named here before release.

How long we keep data

  • Account and app data: as long as your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of deletion (see how to delete your account).
  • Emails: up to 3 years after our last contact.
  • Records required by law (such as invoices): for the period the law sets, up to 10 years.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and access is limited to what is needed to run the service. If a breach affected your data and created a risk for you, we would inform you and the CNIL as the law requires.

Children

Our apps are not designed for children under 15. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and French law, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to receive it in a portable format, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can also leave instructions about what happens to your data after your death. To use any of these rights, email contact@usualshift.com. We answer within one month.

If you think we haven't respected your rights, you can complain to the French data protection authority: CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, www.cnil.fr.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices or apps change, and change the date at the top. For significant changes affecting app users, we'll also tell you in the app.
